Day boys fees include the following:
Day boys may stay for the boarding day which includes an evening meal, prep at school and evening activities. They also attend school on Saturday mornings and may have lunch and stay for games if parents so wish. Day boys may stay for prep and the evening meal or Saturday lunch at no extra cost.
Extras
These are kept to an absolute minimum and consist mainly of individual tuition for Music, Drama, Specialist help and extra curriculum activities, such as Clay Pigeon Shooting, Paintballing, Go-karting or Ju-Jitsu.
In the autumn term a charge of £15 is applied to each boy’s account. This is used for small items of stationery, outings, charity donations etc. Any unspent monies will be refunded at the end of the academic year.
Extra Help
Wherever a child requires specialist help (e.g. for learning difficulties), parents will be asked to pay the visiting hourly rate. Boys will not miss the same lesson (or sport) every week, so they do not feel deprived of an activity they enjoy. The average number of sessions per boy, per year is 30 and the cost per session is £25.50.
If parents and the school feel that external provision is needed to confirm a diagnosis of difficulties, we have an approved educational psychologist, with teaching experience, who visits for in-school assessments.
Music
Most boys choose to have individual tuition in at least one instrument or singing. Music practice is timetabled for boarders. Individual tuition costs £199 per term for one instrument. There are discounts for the study of more than one instrument.
In addition, try-out lessons are available free of charge, to establish a suitable instrument for each boy. The school is fortunate in owning a large collection of instruments for hire.
