Friends of Lockers Park

Welcome to Lockers Park School from the Friends of Lockers Park (FoLP).  FoLP represents the parents at Lockers Park and our committee is made up of Parents from  the various classes, the Headmaster's wife Brigid Farquharson and Steve Gilden, Head of Juniors.

Our key role is to organise a variety of social events throughout the year involving parents and their families. Some of the bigger events are designed to raise funds to improve, or provide new facilities, for the boys and the school. Others combine low key fundraising with pure fun – and the boys eagerly anticipate these occasions!  We also donate some of our monies to local charities and charities that may have a special link with the school.  This year we have supported CICRA, a charity supporting children with Crohnes and Urban Access, a youth counselling charity based locally.

Recent events include...

•    Our Bonfire Night – with pumpkin carving, traditionally themed stalls in the Private Garden, Fireworks and a Bonfire.
 
•    The Christmas Fayre - lots of fun and entertainment in the old gym for the boys whilst parents browse the Christmas gift stalls in the Library.

•    The Royal Wedding - a perfect excuse for a street party, Lockers style!  Cakes, bunting and balloons.

•    The spectacular Summer Ball!  Last summer's ball was themed in the style of Arabian Nights, guests enjoyed a three course meal in sumptuous surroundings to the accompaniment of live music.  

The new Adventure Area was our largest investment in 2010 / 2011 and has been a big hit with the boys.  Other projects have included new football goals, storage units, a music system and display frames for the art department, a refurbishments in the sick bay.  

This spring, we have the following events planned:

• Bunco Night - Friday 2nd March

• Coffee Mornign with Informal Concert - Friday 9th March

• The Summer Ball - Saturday 23rd June
