Geography

All classes have three time-tabled lessons a week. Year 6 and above have a fortnightly prep.   Boys are encouraged to develop an understanding of our World, primarily through experience, investigation and learning from secondary sources. The main emphasis is to produce an enquiring mind so that boys learn to ask questions about the world in which we live and make connections between Geographical themes. Fieldwork, demonstrating that geography goes on outside the classroom, plays an important part in the boy’s learning. There is a strong cross-curricular link with ICT which is used in a variety of ways including writing up projects, researching topics and presenting information. Boys are prepared for Common Entrance and Scholarship Exams.
